What times of the day we buy online, what month we buy a new coat or what season we book a week on the beach. These are all crucial clues for those companies looking to grab our attention with their advertising or promotions.
This is an ideal role for a numerate someone who is happy spending their time with data and looking for the story, but is currently working in a mundane area doing it. Media Agencies are full of very bright dynamic people who know a lot about the communications space and can be very inspiring talking about it. You will be helping the planners deliver business recommendations by finding insights from large data sets using SQL coding language. The vast majority of data will be from digital sources, with customer and location data also adding a layer of new insight. They will be looking to you to enhance their understanding of the importance of these data sets and how they can be leveraged for client benefit. You will use a range of techniques to develop and test hypotheses about how consumers are responding to marketing.
With with one plus year's experience OR as a postgraduate in the analytics / insight space, you will be highly numerate and adept at analysing datasets on Excel as well as statistical software experience e.g. Eviews, R or SAS. Using SQL will form part of your remit, so they seek someone with this knowledge or an interest in acquiring this skill via a supported intensive training course.
