Research Manager – Clientside | 6 months plus FTC

This international role within the music industry will give you the opportunity to work across a range of varied ad hoc research projects, in particular a key major international annual quant study conducted through an external agency.  

As part of an Insight and Analysis team you will be interacting with international offices to coordinate projects. The department is responsible for understanding, monitoring, and communicating relevant trends in music consumption and the music market, informing wider strategy in many areas. Reporting directly to the Director of Insight and Analysis, you will be responsible for providing accurate data, insights, reports and analysis.

Other responsibilities will be to keep up-to-date on consumer research in music discovery and consumption habits from a variety of sources and communicate these internally. You will be able to analyse the reliability and accuracy of survey findings, understand how methodological choices influence survey results, and be able to explain the implications of these choices clearly and succinctly to others. You will provide robust and consistent data and analyses that can be used to support activities, including government relations, litigation, anti-piracy, and public relations.

Developing insights on music consumption patterns, both licensed and unlicensed, across a range of countries, you will communicate these insights confidently to a range of internal and external stakeholders and contribute to regular publications and reports.

Essential experience will be around having significant consumer quant research exposure. You will have managed, from an agency or clientside background, large scale quant projects end to end and have the experience and capability to develop insights and deliver findings. Detailed knowledge of design and analysis is also key. You will have well developed communication skills and the ability to communicate complex points to an engaged and diverse audience. Other requirements are to have an awareness of ongoing technological developments and a love of music.
