Senior Research Executive – Social Research and Evaluation

The Social Research division of this World Class Agency bridges the gap between government and the public, providing robust research and analysis. They cover broad issues that shape the delivery of public services in modern society and how to engage the public in the policy-making process. They work for every single central government department, the devolved administrations, regulators, agencies and the third sector. Their work informs policy, thought leadership, academic research and organisational strategy in the UK and internationally. They now seek a mixed methods SRE to join the Manchester team.



This role will work across a range of concurrent client projects and bring all-round research expertise (ideally a mixture of qual and quant) to the team, along with excellent project management skills. Whilst you will be expected to work across several policy areas, there will be an opportunity to align yourself to specific areas of interest be that methodological, such as the latest digital techniques or sectorial, such as the environment and climate change.


You will also work closely with London colleagues and be exposed to the latest in methodological design and policy insight. They have unrivalled access to senior stakeholders across the civil service, government and the private sector.

 

You will be contributing effectively to client relationships, working with clients and colleagues to apply appropriate research designs, including sampling, creation of discussion guides, data collection, analytics, reporting and.providing clients with actionable insights that address complex issues, creating presentations/reports focussed on insights and stories from data, with sound recommendations, ensuring quality of data and insight, managing relationships with suppliers and internal operations colleagues to ensure the objectives of the research are met, on time and on budget, providing guidance, support and coaching to junior team members and monitoring project financials. Responsibility for management across all aspects of the project from set up through to delivery.

 

We seek solid experience of both primary quant (including questionnaire design) and qualitative methods. You will have the ability to multi-task, prioritise and hit deadlines , bring passion and thinking around the challenges faced by your clients and show commercial acumen and a willingness to innovate and challenge conventional thinking and be a team player, with the ability to guide and motivate more junior team members.
