Government agency who engage with international audiences to promote business and tourism seeks a new team member in the research team. You will play an important role, applying specialist research skills to enhance and develop a detailed understanding of business audiences and ensuring that this insight is effectively shared and fed into the organisations strategy. The role holder will build up a robust understanding of key target markets, sectors, and international business audiences to encourage foreign investment, international trade, and helping to retain businesses in the capital.

 

The intelligence and insight required will span primary research and secondary research to provide up to date intelligence in response to internal, client and partner requirements. The role will develop research and insights that will enable right choices about who to target, how to target them and with what message. The role holder will ensure that the organisation is well equipped with robust data, knowledge and market intelligence about competition to win and retain contestable business.

 

Key Tasks

  • Provide the business with strategic analysis on the challenges and opportunities.
  • Lead on the delivery of high value research requests.
  • Liaise with a range of internal and external teams to scope out research briefs, define the output required, conduct the research, and present the information in high quality outputs.
  • Manage and deliver up-to-date and accessible sector propositions, messaging documents and strategic insight.
  • Produce and deliver insight focused white papers to promote foreign direct investment, international trade and exports.
  • Support and drive briefings and research relating to high growth business programmes.
  • Promote knowledge management and easy dissemination of insights across the company, including being part of the team managing our internal insights portal.
  • Establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with key stakeholders in the foreign direct investment, international trade and exports, sector.
  • Keep abreast of important trends and insights across sectors and markets of interest.
  • Help to identify and manage existing, and new, information & data sources.

 

Skills:

 

Demonstrate good knowledge of business audiences.

  • Relevant experience in delivering business insights/market analysis, using secondary and primary research techniques, intelligence monitoring, analysis, and data sources.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written; proficient in editing and presenting complex data clearly and simply.
  • Able to organise and analyse varied data sources and identify the most important sources of evidence; understanding statistical techniques would be a benefit.
  • Demonstrate good understanding of market research standards and processes.
  • Experience of using market research and analytical tools (such as SPSS, Q, PowerBI etc) a plus.
