A superb opportunity for an experienced research leader to take the helm of the research consulting department at a highly regarded independent research consultancy. They work with international clients on the questions shaping their markets and have built a strong reputation for their expertise and consultative approach.
They deliver primary market research to clients and their associated agencies. They operate in the marketing & PR space, offering questionnaire design consultancy, access to decision makers anywhere in the globe, superb analysis and creative, visually stunning deliverables that pull out the relevant story.
Your ability to lead research teams and structure improvements in performance will be key. Those who can demonstrate an ability to enable a team and give them the tools to succeed and grow will love this challenge. This is a long-standing successful business; they are very keen to grow their offer and propose broader ad hoc consulting services.
You will have the authority to set the direction, priorities and standards for the whole department, building strong, accountable managers and a team that consistently delivers, learns and improves. As part of the senior leadership team, you will also play a key role in shaping business strategy and company-wide performance, so this is a genuine seat at the top table.
This is very much a role for someone who wants to make their mark rather than maintain the status quo. A leader who can bring a vision.
You will build on what already works well, identify what needs to change and have the confidence to make the difficult calls and see them through. There is real scope to strengthen research best practice and workflows and to turn new ideas, technology and practical applications of AI into measurable improvements in quality, efficiency and client value.
You will be an accomplished quant researcher in your own right, with the credibility to challenge experienced consultants, guide complex programmes and recognise where good work can become exceptional. You will champion a consultative approach that gets underneath the business question and turns complex findings into compelling stories and advice that matters. Commercially, you will understand how decisions within research affect revenue, profitability, utilisation and growth, and you will work closely with Account Management on key client relationships, major pitches and account development.
To be considered, you will have led a sizeable consultative research function within an established market research agency or consultancy, ideally through a layer of experienced managers, and have a strong track record of improving performance and developing talent. You will also have experience of operating at senior leadership level.
The business has a collaborative senior leadership team that welcomes constructive challenge and turns ambitious ideas into tangible results.
This is a rare chance to lead a talented team, develop its next generation of leaders and leave a lasting mark on a specialist consultancy. If this sounds good to you, we would love to tell you more!
