Our client is a leading digital platform with multiple media brands within content, publishing, news, youth and broader media arenas. Their brands focus on human stories and help all kinds of people share experiences through their stories. They are the largest commercial publisher in the UK and continued ambitious growth and development plans mean they are recruiting a new role within the already established Insights team. We are looking for an established Senior Insights Manager with a broad experience across advertising, content, marketing and brand research with the desire and capability to continue to grow within the business.

Joining an award winning Market Insight team, you will be responsible for underpinning revenue by bringing audiences to life with internal stakeholders, media agencies and advertising partners. Working in a fast paced, exciting media environment, the Senior Insight Manager will love turning numbers into compelling storytelling. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for media, advertising and understanding consumer behaviour coupled with a strategic mindset, as you will be informing high level strategic planning decision making. You will need to be a confident communicator who is comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders and clients. 

 Overall responsibilities:

  • To work closely with the Director of Market Insight and Brand strategy, and key sales stakeholders to plan, create and deliver insight strategy
  • Driving news techniques to prove advertising effectiveness for our advertising partners
  • Work closely with the content solutions planning team to fuse insight through the creative planning process
  • Drive the commercial business by presenting compelling sales arguments to the sales team, agencies and clients
  • To use a range of techniques for analysing data and disseminating findings, ensuring that presentations are understandable to non-specialist audiences
  • Identify areas of research to promote position as industry thought leaders
  • To introduce creative research techniques which deliver rich and powerful insights into our consumers
  • Commission and manage strategic, operational and tactical qualitative and quantitative research
  • Overseeing and running campaign evaluation studies
  • Overseeing the day to day management of all ad hoc insight requests
  • Overseeing a number of regular reports for the Senior Management team
  • Playing a role in identifying, exploring and presenting new opportunities (commercial or editorial) for our business, as well as facilitating product development, marketing and brand strategy support.
  • Manage two Insight Managers including KPIs, performance and training

Skills and experience:

  • 5+ years’ minimum experience in a media insight role in either a media owner, media agency or research agency environment
  • Experience in managing large research projects from start to finish
  • Knowledge of advertising effectiveness techniques
  • Very digitally minded
  • Strong understanding of primary research methodologies and techniques including brief writing and questionnaire design
  • Strong stakeholder management skills (internal and external)
  • Ability to present insights in an authoritative, engaging and enthusiastic way
  • A team player with experience of managing others  
  • Experience of media related syndicated research tools 
  • Experience of using and analysing media measurement data
