Higher Education Institute has created a new role within the Insights team to focus on data analysis. The focus will be on interrogating varied data sources in order to uncover insights to inform stakeholders across varied departments. We seek candidates with experience in managing large data sets - cleaning data sets, bringing together varied sources, analysing findings and storytelling. Knowledge of creating dashboards and reporting systems is highly desirable.  This is a newly created vacancy and so you will have plenty of opportunity to grow and develop your remit and the tools and methods needed to deliver your findings to internal stakeholders.

 

Overall purpose of the Job:

  • Creation and management of consolidated information sets and other data assets to support monitoring and evaluation activities including KPI dashboards and impact assessment
  • Creation, maintenance and sharing of high-quality insight outputs, which support effectiveness and continuous improvement
  • Responsible for the quality and integrity of Insight Dept. information sets for analysis and reporting

 

 

Main activities/tasks:

 

Data Analytics & Insight

  • Responsible for overseeing an annual cycle of analysis and production of reporting and insight outputs from a wide range of data sources including research and operational datasets
  • Manage the development and maintenance of information and of regular reports
  • Manage the collection and reporting of diversity and inclusivity data across a range of activities and services
  • Manage the creation and maintenance of Key Performance Indicators dashboard reporting
  • To work with departmental managers to understand and meet their insight needs in order to support the continuous improvement of services and activities

 

Data Management

  • Responsible for the collection, cleaning and synthesis of data from multiple sources to create information sets for analysis and KPI monitoring
  • Responsible for data quality and GDPR compliance of all Insight dept. data and information sets

 

We require naturally analytical individuals with the aptitude to develop their knowledge of analytical tool. Excellent Excel skills are essential and other more advanced tools and methods knowledge is highly desirable. This role will be based in the office in Central Manchester 2+ days a week.
